first we drop by Jai’s pad to pick up some boards and meet jai’s beautiful family, jai,elisha, and the new member frankie lee with an ugly mexican on the side.

then it was off to surf the famous noosa points with flatmate nick squashed in the back

on the way to the beach we saw a pretty sweet car for sale for $750 if you want it its right next to jai’s. let me know and i’ll go ask the guy whats up

we ended up surfing tee tree but i dont have a pics cuz i was surfing but if you’ve surfed tee tree then you already know whats up and if you havent just imagine…. awesomeness.

what better way to wash off a sick session then to drink it down with a couple cold ones with the boys

off course they always have to have a problem with us, they made us leave because nick wasn’t wearing shoes…. come on man we’re at the beach…. kooks.

so we ended up putting some more bad stuff into us….but ohhh does it hurt so good… thank you dirty bird

then we went back to look for more surf but….

it was flat… so we went back home and had a lil fun with miss frankie lee

oh ya shes a beer thief just like pops…. haha

after they were done shooting we got to hang out at the hilton sydney and i got to meet all the crew

for some reason some of the photos wouldn’t go vertical so turned you head a little and get sideways….oh that’s Spencer Tunick by the way

this is Steve Rogers, he produce the shoot and he is the reason why i got to meet all these amazing people. plus he helps out at Dano Surfboards, thanks again steve for everything.

there was also John and his wife G.G. that were there helping out on the trip but unfortunately i didn’t get any pictures with them so your going to have to imagine how amazing they were.

Steve happened to have one more night in his room left but he had to go home back to cali. so who else would he give it too……i’ll let you geuss

too bad the only thing that came back was a drunken team…… ya nick that shit was wild, he had to go get some mackers and a night cap before he could pass out but i think the fries got to him

Every now and again everyone goes through things in life that get you down or simply life isn’t flowing how you like it…

I found myself in the early months of 2009 in a position like this. I was struggling with fitness, my competitive career and certain personal areas of my life. I know this may sound impossible as Im blessed in so many ways. I am aware of this. Travelling the world surfing and enjoying so many great times,opportunities, meeting people etc etc I’m blessed.

One thing I have learnt over these past few years is not to get caught up in your own mind. Past or future. Thoughts and thinking can be your worst enemy at times. Although I have awareness, its very hard to be completely free of mind. Im also a firm believer that to have a clear healthy mind your physical body needs to be healthy aswell.

My dad, I choose to call him the ‘guru’, has hassled me for years to pursue a unique trip to India for an enlightening treatment called Punchkarma. This treatment is a complete mind/body cleansing retreat.

Stepping off the plane in New Delhi I was heavied by the thick humid air. I had no idea what to expect. Firstly, burning up aggressive highways was a gut wrenching experience in itself. Being taxied to the Maharishi Auyevadic Hospital in a pool of my own sweat, by a gracious little Indian man in his own dodgy car. Crazy!

I was shocked to see the degree of poverty. I mean, I’m aware of this country and its ridiculous population but this was heartbreaking. It was of similar comparison to parts of Brazil I have previously travelled. We carved through endless favelas, past families that seriously slept on the dividing strips of highways. Eye opening and a major reality check to say the least.

Quickly I’ll explain Punchkarma treatments. They involve massage, oil treatments, milk baths and colonic irrigations. This paralleling with a specific diet that co-insides with particular days of your treatment. Its all for the release of major toxins forming and building in your body.

I’ll be honest I received 8 colonic irrigations in 6 days of stay. “Big basti” is the major colonic and it’s a uniquely awkward experience to say the least. Filling your bowel with 1.5 litres of oil is weird!!!!!!

My first treatment was also a tad embarrassing. I enter a room in a dressing gown and there are 3 pleasantly smiling Indian men. The short stumpy man tells me to drop my gown. I’m like what the f@#k. Naked? He nods smiling. No I’m thinking as my parts shrink and shrivel into hiding. Fuk it! When in Rome, so I’m nude and this happy little Indian chap proceeds to tie a fabric G-sting around my rig. This is because every morning the first treatment was a full body seasame oil massge/bath. Mind you its amazing.

So Im in this hospital for 7days, I had a lot of down time reading books, meditating and basically chilling the fuk out. It was really enjoyable but also quite obscure for me as I’ve never really not had anything to do.

It was a majorly rewarding experience. I don’t think I could recommend it for all types of people. You definitely need to have an understanding of body and mind to enjoy the benefits of a treatment such as this.

Ill definitely be returning this year.
