After mistakenly walking into a bikie club, Rad and Jedd feel that their presence is not wanted. “Who are the hell are these blokes?” a guy in a wife-beater mutters to the guy with no legs. So instead of picking a fight, the duo decide to have a romantic, baked bean dinner for two. Witness Rad and Jedd attempt try to pitch a Poler tent and wander aimlessly around the mythical sand hills of Wentworth.

INSIGHT PRESENTS: MAGIC MUNGO. DUN DIRT CHEAP!

We sent Rad Dan and Jedd Cooney into the Australian outback for seven days in search of the 60,000 year old Mungo Man who reportedly lurks on the outskirts of Lake Mungo.

With Rad’s vintage Kingswood as their noble chariot, they crossed the desert in majestic form; even after discovering that the Kingsy had neither fuel gauge, speedo nor headlights. And yet, Rad and Jedd burned with the hope that the Mungo Man had survived and was still roaming the red desert sands. Their blurry dream was to find him, rolling across the land in his own Kingswood and double fisting XXXX with his Mungo women in the backseat.

Truth is, Rad and Jedd never got anywhere near the Mungo Man. Or even Lake Mungo. Instead, they found headless kangaroos, secret bikie clubs, bush doofs, an outback warrior/legend named Scott and heaps and heaps of sand.

Follow Rad and Jedd for the next five days on their satanically fuelled Ozzy outback adventure right here, with the first installation…

Rad starts Magic Mungo’s outback adventure off by serenading the West Australian truckies with a soothing rendition of AC/DC’s Highway To Hell and also finds an ancient native road painting on the highway of the female form. Jedd on the other hand, came to the conclusion that he is the second coming of Christ, while trying to find the opening to his tent.

On The Road with Rad Dan: Big Sur

There was a huge once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower, unknown to us before we had driven all the way out of the big lights and SMOG of Los Angeles into the clear skies and fresh air of Big Sur. But we didn’t even look up once that weekend ’cause we were too occupied with fire and throwing knives! Meteor showers are so 1990…

On another note, one of the many Insight van breakdowns of the trip…. some old mate yelled out if we needed help. We thought we were saved with our shit mechanic skills. He waddled over with an oddball grin… started to talk, then came up with his solution on how to help our broken car, “you need a better car.” Great help… we’re on the road again!!!! Thanks mate… you need a better slap in the head!

Little did we know the people that would get our car working would reside in a servo (gas station) with a chandelier the size of an elephant hanging from the fragile roof… I hope no one has been killed by a falling COMET chandelier there yet.

On another day we thought we were about to be abducted. Up high in the hidden DRY HOT mountain, we were once again stranded on the side of a cliff with our broken weapon car! We were high up on this baron road, no one around, just dirt and rocks. Plenty of trees and places to be thrown off a cliff and no one would ever know. This was literally in the middle of nowhere, deep in the mountains where you couldn’t even hear a scream… next minute, six government vans came flooring up the hill… all parking one by one around our car, blocking us in?

We were like okay lets get ready to be taken hostage! What a story this is going to be!

Then all these people with large brim hats, note pads, rugged socks, massive smiles on their faces jumped out of their CIA style cars, and in a flash scurried to a pile of rocks. They were all hell rock frothers. Just up here to check out some rocks that just so happen to be where we were stranded, so we were at partial ease… but I still wouldn’t want to be abducted by rock frothers. Torturing you with rock stories!
