Catching up with Head Women's wear designer, Laura May on design, spare time and wardrobe:

What do you love most about your job as Head Womenswear Designer at Insight?
The creativity, the people, the travel.
What is your favourite season to design?
I enjoy both seasons for different reasons. A/W for the experimentation with knitwear and heavier textured fabrics. Looks tend to be layered which is always fun to style. Summer for the print, colour and beachwear which, living by the beach are pretty much my staples. And I love working on our denim collections. In such a competitive category you're creativity is really pushed to develop innovative washes, techniques and details that are going to excite people and stand out from the rest.
  
Your most treasured wardrobe item?
My Balenciaga biker boots. They don't leave my feet.
When you aren't designing you are...?
Usually thinking about it! Trawling markets,  doing yoga, reading, dreaming up my next travels, listening to music, obsessing over some new health food discovery, trying to learn the guitar, working on projects and hanging at the beach. Life's short. I try to make the most of every day. I definitely don't sleep enough.
If you could dress one person in the world it would be...?
In a dream world Patti Smith circa '76. But it's the coolest just seeing girls on the street wearing Insight.  Because they went out and bought it.
